ellie's bday
Mar. 10th, 2006 11:09 pmSloth begets sloth.
I had such a lovely afternoon. I did a few chores, but mostly sat in my office with The Furies and read until I slipped into a nap. I did clean my bedroom and start dishes and laundry, and I'll finish them later on tonight or tomorrow, but the best part of the day was sleeping with my cat.
And then I met my big group of friends out for a quick dinner at Matador before meeting Ellie and her friends (young, whippersnappers) at BalMar for drinks. I have clearly gotten used to cabs, because I realized I really didn't want to drive and deal with parking in Ballard on a Friday night, especially since I was going to have a drink or two. It was really nice, I got dropped off (and I was running late), had some fantastic tortilla soup and a mojito. It was so great to see everyone and catch up. We walked over to BalMar to meet up with Ellie & Co. And we lasted until about 9:30. Ellie shrieked at us to stay until at least double-digits, but we're old and lame, and quite content to be so.
Jeanne gave me a ride home and omg I love my pajamas. And my cat, who thinks I'm stupid and will forget that I already fed him before I left.
I've just finished The Furies. I really loved it. It's amazing to think how many things are entwined with or spawn from Sandman. The art is stunning. I'm going to have to get my own copy of this someday.
