Today went by absurdly fast.
I slept in way late to 10:30, and I blame the combination of alcohol and a late night. I tidied up the few things that were left, and waited for OB and Em to get here. The plan was to buy me a BBQ today, and also to hang out for some girlie-time with Em. We left OB to his devices and took off for U Village. I bought a Weber Grill Cookbook that Em highly recommended and we wandered around Restoration Hardware, petting things.
Then we met up with OB in search of the Right BBQ. And we failed. I think I'm going to get the kind that Jeff and Chris have, but they don't have them in stock yet. So we went to dinner at Matador. OB and Em are picky about restaurants. And I swear to god they have some sort of curse, because even when I take them to places I've always had great service, we get crappy service that night. But Matador was a hit! They loved the food and the fun ambiance and there was a dodgy moment when they gave us the table by the door, but we were able to seat Em on an inside corner, facing away from the door, so it was ok. Whew.
And that's it--that took up the whole damn day! From about 1PM-8PM!
It was really great to see them and I even found some Click Magnets--which I've been having the bizarrest hard time finding. Whoop!
I'm glad to be home early, though. And I kind of want a bath, even though I don't have fun bath salts or stuff. I may improvise. Or I may drag my ass over to Safeway. We'll see.
Tomorrow Jeff and I are finally going to see Brokeback Mountain! I hope all the hoopla about it doesn't kill the movie for me. Sometimes it seems like its so much better to just see things when you have no idea about them, no bloated expectations.

Date: 2006-03-12 05:26 am (UTC)I got up earlier than you.*
*shock!*
*Well, OK, I *always* get up "earlier" than you, since hopefully you're still asleep by the time even I get up in the morning, but in terms of actual relative times, I bet you're usually up before I am :)

Date: 2006-03-12 09:01 am (UTC)And I still can't believe I slept in so late. And I hope I don't end up sleeping in so late tomorrow, considering it's 1AM and I'm still up. Ack. It throws my whole sleep schedule off for the week!

Date: 2006-03-12 05:45 am (UTC)I completely agree. I've had many movies ruined by ads, and the few I saw knowing nothing about it were great.

Date: 2006-03-12 08:00 am (UTC)And, conversely, having really low expectations of a movie has elevated a few movie experiences, too.
