Because Monday tv sucks.

West Wing
It actively hurts to see John Spencer's last days.
Josh and Donna kiss!! And then he immediately weasels back out. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH.
So sad the show is ending, but it does seem to be time.

Desperate Housewives
So tired of watching the Adventures of Susan: Klutziest Woman Alive
Also not happy Bree is an alcoholic, though I suppose there had to be some point where she loses control
I love Lynette but sometimes I want to slap Tom
Surprised that I like Karl and Susan's interactions

I wasn't sure if I could believe they'd killed Paul Young, and was even more surprised to find I was glad he wasn't dead. Nurse Felicia can die anytime though.

And Zach continues to be so creepy. Ick. GET A HAIRCUT, BOY!

Grey's Anatomy
Still hate Meredith
Still feel bad for George, even though I think he needs to take some responsibility, even if it's that Meredith was a crappy friend--regardless of their unfortunate, aborted sex-capades
Hope Derek gets over the idea that he and Meredith can be 'friends' and turns his attention to the marriage he's promised to work on
Love, love, LOVE Bailey
I hate Alex, even if the "He looks like a Hobbit!" comment made me laugh

So that was fun. But now I really, really have to do my French homework. Whine.

I'm not loving DH lately. It's just 'eh'.

But, how can you hate Meredith?? I love Meredith!! And, I SO want her and McDreamy back together... I just think he and Addison are all, all wrong for each other. He lights up around Meredith!

I think I still love DH because it's so new to me--I just bought the discs and blew through the first season in a couple of sittings, so I think the novelty hasn't worn off yet, but I agree it's not a mindblowing show.

And Meredith just... rubs me the wrong way. I don't mind if she and Derek get together, but I want him to stop dithering about with Addison if he doesn't want to give his marriage a real try.

What do you love about Meredith? (Now Christina, Christina I love..)

Um...Monday TV sucks?! Prison Break with my boyfriend and 24?!? *sigh*

I don't watch either of those :)

And who's your boyfriend in Prison Break?

You know, I think we officially have different types (the nexus of which was Joesph Fiennes..). I like Danny, you like Martin. And this guy ...maybe he just looks too young for old old me? :)

I have no idea how old he is...he could be too young for me as well...and I'm distraught that he was on an episode of Buffy and I can't remember him.

Huh. I just bought The Chosen Collection and am going to be watching them all again--I'll look out for him for ya! :)

Ok! I just watched the rerun with the invisible girl...she plays the girlfriend in "But I'm a Cheerleader" and the fortune teller in "Carnivale". I was able to recognize her...why not my boyfriend?

Maybe he wasn't as hot back then?

And I never did watch Carnivale--good?

We're only 2 episodes in (Netflix) but are enjoying it so far. Ya know, I put Firefly on my Netflix list..maybe I should assign 24 and Prison Break for you :P

I've watched 24--just not my thing. And Prison Break just doesn't appeal to me, either.

And you saw me through college, assignments don't mean much to me *grin*

Is Prison Break out on dvd? When it comes out--I promise to give it a try since you like it so much. And we do generally like a lot of the same stuff :)

I am late to the 24 bandwagon, but I think it might be the best show on television.

I really loved season one, but I think I lost interest midway through second season. I think Kiefer Sutherland is doing a fine job, but omg I couldn't stand to watch that twit (Eliza Something) as his daughter anymore.

Are you all caught up with all the seasons? Just curious if your opinion is based on the early stuff or current.

I love Grey's Anatomy, but these people are driving me crazy. As with so many TV shows I watch, I *despise* the main character. Meredith is squinty and annoying and emaciated and self-absorbed and I can't stand her.

I love George, but he needs his as kicked.
I hate Alex, and he needs his ass kicked.
I love McDreamy, but he needs his ass kicked.
I hate Mrs. McDreamy, but she's growing on me.
I love Izzie, but Alex is right -- she needs to either be this guy's doctor or his girlfriend, not both. It's inappropriate.
I love Bailey but WTF was she thinking handing over her baby to Christina, of all people?

I want to see more Christina. She's the only one I don't want to slap.

Oh, yeah. I haven't watched West Wing since season three but ... Josh and Donna kiss??! It's about freakin' time. But jeez, it sounds like he hasn't grown AT ALL since I stopped watching.

Agree on everything--especially Mrs. McDreamy. I hated Addison at the beginning, but I rather like her now. She doesn't lack self-awareness the way Meredith does.

I don't hate Meredith, the character. I think she's got some serious personality problems, but that makes her interesting.

I do, however, completely loathe the actress playing Meredith. And I really wish they would force her to eat something already.

I don't hate any of the characters, actually. They've all got flaws and irritating tics, and they've all got virtues and endearing qualities. Basically, I can't bring myself to hate a group of characters for being the rare thing that they are, which is: well-written.

I think Christina has some personality problems, and they make her interesting. But Meredith's personality problems make her annoying to me.

(But, you know about tastes and how they vary.)

I would almost say that if a show has done its job right, there will be characters I love and hate, versus feel 'enh, this is pointless, channel-switch!' about.

I don't think the show is particularly well-written, but I love it because its scenarios are so ridiculous at times and fun and dramatic.

See, I thought Ellen Pompeo(?) was utterly adorable in Old School but think she looks like a used dishrag on this show - wan, thin and sketchy - the fact that her character is pathologically promiscuous doesn't help, though.

My favorite character on the show is Dr. Miranda Bailey, although the wretchedly named Addison is creeping up my charts. George needs to just grow a pair already.

I agree, Bailey just rocks. And I forget again--why do you loathe the name Addison so much?

And Ellen Pompeo looks positively rotund next to 'Terri Hatcher on Desperate Housewives. (Though I agree, the girl needs to put on some weight for christ's sake.)

I hate the name Addison because it reeks of trendy-ism. I am fairly displeased with the crop of new names, particularly for baby girls. Yes, yes, I know that names, especially female names, come and go in and out of vogue - for example, the names Lisa and Jennifer were VERY popular in the 70's (think about how many Lisa and Jen's you probably went to school with), whereas names like Linda and Susan were very popular in the late 60's.

Anyway, and I have read a great article in the NY Times from a woman who charts these things, the popularity of the name 'Madison' as a girl's name can be DIRECTLY correlated to, I kid you not, the release of the movie Splash.

I don't care for the name Madison, and also from what I have read, once a name gets saturated in popularity, people start thinking of names that sound similar - in this way, the suddenly resurgently popular name of Isabelle (come to think, Shonda Rimes must have read a popular baby name's book - Meredith and Miranda and also newly popular names), has spawned a wave of girls being names Annabell(e) and (E)Lisabell(e)(ick).

So, it seems to me that they thought Madison was a cool name, but played, so they dropped the 'M' and voila! Addison. Pretentious indeed.

Make sense?

It does make sense, though that particular trend doesn't stick in my craw as it does yours.

I do hate some names. Mostly I find weirdly unconventional spellings of common names irritating. Like Jheremey or ...and for some reason I'm blanking on other examples, but I'm never at my best in the morning.
