The Colbert Report doesn't always hit a home run for me. I love Stephen Colbert, I love his dead-pan manner, and I love it even more when he smiles ever-so-impishly. But the show doesn't always do it. Which is fine, unlike The Daily Show, it's still new and working out the kinks. Also, I think it has a harder structure with its brand of satire.

However, watching Colbert go tête-à-tête with Al Franken was fucking hilarious. They played off each other so damn well. I loved it. More! More!

All fair points. I'll admit my favorite parts of the Daily Show have always been Jon Stewart talking. I loved This Week in God, but only when Stephen Colbert did it. The other segments rarely work for me.

On The Colbert Show, I love "The Word" the best, I think. That and just his sassy attitude just kills me.

But forced to choose (which happily, I am not), I'd pick Jon Stewart over Stephen Colbert.

I might still pick Jon over Stephen if forced to choose, but it'd be tough.

I do absolutely love "The Word".

And it's funnier when Stephen gets cracked up on air, because his character is supposed to be so humorless.

Agreed. I love it when he's stern, and love it when he cracks up! All in all, I'm glad he has his own show now, but I think The Daily Show is weaker without him--his segments were my favorites there.
