West Wing
I was so pissed at Bruno, except that Vinick was right--Josh would have gone to town if Vinick had left juicy info where he could access it. I'm almost sheepish to say I was so relieved when Santos had a good reason for the checks. I really love him. Also, kind of loved Vinick for his approach to dealing with the Nuclear thing. It would be so nice if that were a reality. What a concept--stand up for what you once said and either apologize, explain, or defend yourself.

It's so weird knowing the show is ending, and that John Spencer is dead. I just want to get it over with.

Grey's Anatomy
Motherfucker! I hate Alex. You don't fucking take your personal jealousies out on a patient who may be about to FUCKING DIE. Since there is some correlation between hope and surviving surgery, it's so beyond ethical, that I can't even just say "it's a stupid soap" and let it go. I was enraged. And for him to do it under the guise of straight talking? I wanted to rip his balls out through his nostrils. I'm glad to see that Burke takes him to task for this in the next new episode's preview--though I fear it's just going to be a wrist slapping. I would like to see him lose his career for that. Seriously. Killing a critical patient's hopes right before surgery? Un! Ac! Ceptable!

As wrong as Izzie was for losing her professionalism with a patient (fucking pull yourself off the case and just be his friend and if he lives, maybe his girlfriend, but your objectivity is not so much--so step aside) I celebrate her crumpling of Alex's ego. Well overdue. He definitely isn't good enough for her.

And I don't care if Alex has a point about George being mopey. It's not his fucking place to kick George's ass--ass-kicking should come from your closest friends. Yes, George should have seen that Meredith was still in love with McDreamy, and that as much as he 'knew' he'd be a better, more loyal, more loving, more whatever boyfriend, if someone doesn't love you--forcing them into a corner when they're at rock-bottom and then being upset when they start crying during sex is definitely half your own fault. My dislike of Meredith aside, I felt bad for her during that scene. She is one fucked up girl, and if she was swayed during George's impassioned speech and thought she could do it-- it's understandable that she started to bawl during. God, I've been there. You make horrible, horrible mistakes and have no idea how to get yourself out of them. And while I don't think she and George can be friends (not for a long time, and after much needed distance, and not during an intense residency, hello) any more than Meredith and Derek can be friends (and it continues to incense me every time he gives the back of her a longing look. ), civility in a work situation should be maintained. George can not talk to her as a friend, but stalking out of the room like a two-year old is just insane. You work there! You're doctors!!!

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Okay. I feel better now.

As much as it pains me to say this, but I am now officially rooting for the wretchedly named Addison (henceforth, WNA).

First of all, kudos for the juju. Secondly, well played by extending it to even Meredith (ugh - feel the awkwardness). But excellent, coy slap to her putz-face husband regarding the ongoing "friendship" between him and Skeleton Girl. "Well, I won't be friends with Mark," sez he. With a response that is both acid and sweet, WNA replies "Neither will I."

Huzzah.

As to West Wing, I personally think that Santos is lying. That is his nino del amor, but he has convinced his brother to take the hit.

It also annoys me to no end that they went to all this trouble of giving us two, sensible, decent, principled men who were running for president, replete with (mostly) principled staffers (well, in Vinnick's case, it was mostly Sheila), but they have turned Vinnick's side into a hateful slew of religion-bating, sleazebag demogogues.

Although, Alan Alda does imbue Sen. Vinnick with a slight peevishness that I find very off-putting. I also resent the way that Santos is a presidential, ahem, wet dream - a tall, handsome FIGHTER PILOT with superb ad hoc rhetorical skills, and a photogenic young family replete with model-perfect, thong-wearing wife. Over doing it much?

Absolutely agree about Alex. I don't think she went far enough, just breaking up with hik -- she should have told Burke or Bailey what he did. Maybe she does next week. But I doubt it.

As far as the show goes, though, I'm happy that they didn't take it in the direction I thought they were taking it and making Alex nicer just because he was doing Izzie. Nope, he's still a self-absorbed fuckhead. I'm so glad she figured out that he's not good enough for her.

I loved the scenes with George and Christina about Burke's cap, and the scene where Izzie threatened to kick her "spoiled little Beverly Hills ass." Yeeee!
