sunday recap
Jun. 5th, 2006 10:33 pmThe weekend was sort of perfect. Just enough fun, just enough relaxing at home.
Sunday dawned and I bounced out of bed to work on the Paris Web site and to do dishes and other exciting, sundry things.
Jeff called and offered to come pick me up for our day at the Farmer's Market. Because he is a GOD. I hate parking in CapHill. Bleh. So I showered and dressed and Hobbes and I eagerly awaited Jeff's arrival. I showed off my not-dead-yet plants and some stuff from Paris Jeff hadn't seen yet, and also I've got more art up on the walls since his last visit.
We drove to the Market, as it started to downpour. But we decided it was worth it, and got out to shop. I didn't have any cash, so Jeff was my sugardaddy for the day. Very exciting. I bought some beautiful tomatoes and herbed Gouda. Afterwards, we walked around (the rain had gone away to reveal a very pretty day). We stopped by this house that had the most amazing profusion of flowers everywhere, and really--Spring has arrived. Everywhere we went, there was an explosion of color. I couldn't stop lamenting not having my camera--but did my pathetic best with the new cell phone camera. We met an adorable cat named George who insisted that we pet him. We walked through the Pea Patch and then ended up at the Deluxe for lunch. Afterwards I wheedled Jeff into coming with me to Fred Meyer and hauling heavy things back to my place (enormous jasmine plant, sacks of dirt, etc.) and then he stayed until he had to go home to get ready for a dinner out with a visiting friend.
And then it was time to hang out with Sarah, which was awesome. She came over to watch me putz around in the garden and then we babbled about our weeks. It was lovely.
It was a quiet night, I should have gone to bed early, but I didn't--naturally. I made a giant vat of vegetarian chili, baked some bread, and stayed up too late watching tv and playing with the beast that is Hobbes.

The picture doesn't do the flowers, or the hunk of a man that Jeff is, any justice.

George demands some lovin' from Jeff.

Check out the whiskers on George!
