verbicideDecided that today was the day I would finally update the home PC to new, shiny, legit copy of XP Pro with Office Standard Edition 2003. So far, so exciting. Since after the last format, I knew I was about to buy updated software, I backed up everything to the D drive and kept things contained.
There's something so darling about a format/install. And I have to admit, it's really nice to finally have XP on this thing. Works so much better than 2K. Also, I really love my case. While it's not pretty or fancy looking, it requires only the twisty of two knobby screws and latches to remove the side panel, and things are very easily accessible. Must plug in backup drive again so as to access, well, everything.
Now, the fun of installing updated, fresh copies of everything.
Also in the works for today:
- trip to Best Buy/Target
- grocery shopping for the week
- format/install OS/software on laptop
- baking some bread
Can't decide if I should use the $180 reward dollars at Best Buy to buy iPod alarm clock, which I've wanted for some time. Or to go hog wild and buy every movie I've ever wanted, but was too cheap to buy. Perhaps a combination of both. Wish I'd gotten the coupons before Deadwood Season Two came out, brh.
Trying to get back on a solid workout/diet regime again. This week's plans:
Swimming on MWF mornings
Weightlifting/fitness ball on TTh evenings
Breakfasts: cereal, luna bar, or banana
Lunch: some variation of sandwich
Dinners:
Monday: baked chicken breast, stuffed with spinach, red peppers, and chevre (inspired by the weekend crepe) and salad with homemade dressing, pears, and smoked almonds.
Tuesday: grilled chicken breast (the tangerine/chipotle recipe, I think) and couscous and broccoli
Wednesday: soft tacos with ground turkey with spanish rice
Thursday: taco salad
Friday, I leave for LA for Mo's graduation. Looking forward to seeing family, but dreading travel. Should be a nice, quick visit though.
