It's going to be 102 degrees with no shade at the graduation.

Kill me now, please.

How exactly does one prepare for a ceremony on the fucking sun?

One drinks a lot of water beforehand. Bladders likely won't be a problem, because you'll lose the water... otherwise.

One also sneaks a bottle of water underneath the robes.

One doesn't do what I did and go for tequila shots immediately afterwards. Dehydration+tequila: OMGSoDrunk.

And now that I went back and read your earlier post and noticed that it's not _your_ graduation... forget the comment about sneaking water under the robe, and put a lot of water in a duffel bag. Cap/hat and sunscreen go without saying.

Still, good tips. I will pack some water. I feel bad for my cousin in her cap/gown.

But I'll make a note not to do tequila shots after *grin*

Wear a tank top with a long-sleeved loose top over it with a light skirt or loose pants. Wear sandals but not heels that are hard to walk in (if your feet are sweaty, you'll fall over) and a hat. And bring water.

That is almost exactly what I've picked out! A cami with a loose white shirt. Jeans because my other pants are just too dressy (I need khakis I don't hate). And my new red Danskos!

And oh yes. Lots of water.

Perfect. I didn't say sunscreen, but if you do burn, you should wear sunscreen, too.

My graduation was pretty hot, too. But they played the Star Wars theme (as one of our processional songs). That was silly.

Oh yes, sunscreen will be liberally applied. I turn a nasty charcoal-tinged color with too much sun.

But how funny about Star Wars!
