Catching up on TiVo. Watching the Daily Show episode where Bill Clinton was on. Makes me want to fucking cry. I miss him so much as the President, and I can't believe we have that half-witted, mouth-breathing buffoon in office instead. And Jon Stewart, I love you so much. But my god you look like a tinker toy next to Clinton. Jon is sooo tiny and so adorable. Dear. God. And the opening skit was brilliant, too. I haven't been watching lately (though I have 8000 episodes TiVo'd) and um, this one was brilliant.

Also, the Jason Jones skit on gays in the military was fucking hysterical. Where do they dig up assclowns like the guy he was interviewing. "Homosexual males drink each other's urine."

WTF planet are these lunatics from.

Also I'm very sleepy and not so lucid right now. So, pardon the incoherent mumbling.

I am frequently stunned by these crazy people and their crazy (or despicably manipulative) statements. It's amazing what staggering ignorance will allow people to believe.

They clearly must not know what the fuck TDS is, or do they just not care that someone is making fun of them--as long as they get to be on TV?

Ignorance cuts both ways. He's been using it as a weapon, I'm glad to see it smacked him in the face. I'm not really surprised that he didn't know what the Daily Show is (and, actually, I suspect they don't necessarily advertise themselves as the Daily Show when they ask for interviews.

For legal reasons though, they must have to show credentials or something from TDS. Though, I think you're right--they probably don't know what TDS is.

For a lot of their victims, just presenting Daily Show credentials would work. Show sounds straightforward, after all. But I know from what I read about Crossballs that they don't actually need to do that -- since Comedy Central is owned by Mtv, they could use the Mtv networks stationary. It's sneaky, but I'm guessing they resort to that from time to time.

hah, that's funny, I said the exact same thing re: Clinton to someone. It really is depressing.

It is. I can't wait till Bush is out of office, but at the same time, I am worried about what we'll get next, too. Though it seems impossible that it could be anyone less presidential.

Shash and I were talking about that - that people didn't appreciate Clinton when they had him, but a lot regret that now. Watch, in 15 years he'll be associated with a "golden age," and Bush with bringing hell to Earth. People are already forgetting the blowjob issue to remember how, when Clinton was president, there were JOBS and money and a booming economy.

I couldn't help noticing how he adroitly evaded the question of Hillary, too; that's a true diplomat in action, answering while saying nothing. Bush just gets irate and acts like he's going to throw his own feces when he gets a question he can't handle (ie, all of them).

And I give Jason Jones a lot of credit for snuggling up to that vile homophobe. It was hilarious, and the fucker deserved to be uncomfortable.

I loved how Clinton didn't even change his expression when that question was asked about Hillary - complete control. I miss him, too...

I'm currently loving the new British correspondent John Oliver...

Exactly - that's what an expert diplomat and politician DOES. No matter how offensive the question. Besides, he had to know it was coming. :)

(I agree with him, she'd make an excellent President. In a perfect world where she could have a prayer of winning and of governing if she won, though.)

Oliver's great. He really knows how to work that accent for laughs, too.

I couldn't agree more --with everything you've said.

I thought I appreciated Clinton when he was in office, but I had no idea how much until Bush stole his first election.

He was adroit, and commanding, and good-natured... just everything you would want a president to be like. I have to say, your comment on how Bush responds to things gave me my first laugh of the day. So depressing, but so true. It's hard to believe that that moron goes out to represent our country, makes decisions about our lives. It's a nightmare we can't wake up from.

And mad props to Jason Jones!
