I love the Farmer's Market so fucking much. It really inspires me to cook and make things I haven't made before.

This week's menu is going to include fresh pesto (Jeff's recipe) and I also bought a pound of romano beans.

I'm going to try this Pakistani dish called Haleem. OB gave me this package mix with the spices and lentils, and I'm going to use the slow cooker to stew it all night.

I'm also going to make the fresh fruit tart with jam and a hazelnut crust for my little dinner party tomorrow night. Some bruschetta to start and the peanut chicken curry for dinner.

I'm glad tonight is so mellow because tomorrow will be packed! I really have to thank saavedra77 for introducing me to Ex Machina. I am twitching to get the next books tomorrow morning. And in spite of some bad reviews, Pete and I are going to see the new Zach Braff movie. I'm going to hit the Pubic Market for spinach, because they were all sold out at the Farmer's Market today.

Then, Sarah's family will descend and there will be much shrieking fun.

Also, I really need to do laundry tonight so that I can enjoy a bounty of fresh underwear to choose from tomorrow.

Mmm, fresh pesto is one of the best things ever! I never make it, 'cause I don't have a food processor or a blender. An old roommate of mine once made pesto with just a knife, but that seemed like so much work, I never tried to replicate it.
