So, I watched the pilot episode of Heros, and thought it was okay, but was then innundated with a backlog of other things to watch and after finding the second episode to also be just okay, stopped Tivo-ing.
Now people at my office are loving it, as on my friend's list (seemingly) so I went and read the recaplets at TwoP but I'm a little confused, but also don't want to go read 3x15 pages worth of detailed recaps.
So, if you are watching Heros, and don't mind answering some questions, please to be clicking below (cut, obviously, for spoilers).
Thank you and have a delightful evening.
And some space for those with RSS feeds for LJ.
1. So, Claire is raped by the football player. But then the recap says something about how she wakes up on the coroner's table, stitches herself up, goes back to school and makes the guy plow into the side of a building--to his death. But, the next recap says that Claire tells her dad about the rapist guy, and his dad has the creepy bald guy erase the kid's memory. Isn't he dead?
2. One recap mentions that Isaac is found dead, frozen, with his the top of his skull cut off--brains removed, and in another one talks about Peter visiting Isaac and siphoning off his powers. Isn't he dead?
3. Have Niki's powers been explained yet? She's got a husband who stole money from the mob, who's just arrived on the scene, and he also has super powers --can walk through walls. Is he the father of Micah? Is he villainesque or still unknown?
I'm going to start Tivo-ing, and maybe just watching the next few episodes will bring me up to speed, but it's just so confusing!

3. Nope. I believe, from dialogue in the show ("I just want to be the girl I see in the mirror," "That woman on the Internet isn't me") and from glimpses of the next ep that she has a doppelganger in a mirror universe, who can somehow break through into our world and take over her body. But I could be wrong. Yes, he's Mikah's father. He looks like a bad guy, what with Niki describing him as a "murderous son of a bitch" and his escaping from prison and all.
It's not so confusing if you watch the show. Personally, I'm really enjoying it.

Date: 2006-10-26 12:31 am (UTC)2. It's a time-travel thing. The teleporting Japanese office-worker, Hiro, teleported himself to NYC five weeks in the future. While in future-NYC, he went to the artist's studio, and found the artist dead, frozen, and brainless before a nuclear explosion exploded. Then he jumped back to present-Tokyo, all determined to save New York. So, the artist is not scheduled to be killed for another few weeks of show-time. Got it? (Time travel is so confusing!)
3. No, after four episodes , we don't know what her power is for sure, although it is highly likely to be super-strength. She is also crazy, but that seems to be unrelated to her superpower, except for the fact that she seems to o nly be able to access her power when the alternate personality is in control. The husband is, as far as we know, the father of Micah. We don't know anything about him, yet.

Date: 2006-10-26 12:33 am (UTC)You know, reading your spoilers today and comments, I have to agree that the Nikki plot-line doesn't do it for me, either, but it'll be interesting to watch and see if it gets better as the show develops.
Looking forward to the next episode!

Date: 2006-10-26 06:24 pm (UTC)If you read the graphic novel on NBC's website that accompanies each episode, it shows the scene immediately after Claire smashed the car into the wall, in which she almost leaves RapeJock to die, but then has a crisis of conscience and pulls him out of the car right before it blows up (because of course it is a television law that all car accidents more severe than a fender bender must end in explosions).
By the way, if you read the graphic novels I highly recommend you do NOT read the last one, unless you don't mind a major spoiler for next week's episode.
Also, I think you can actually watch the episodes you've missed on NBC's website, while you're at it. (You can definitely watch the one from this week there; I'm just not sure if the older ones are still available or if they've been taken down, and I can't check from work.)
