I voted a couple of weeks ago, absentee.

YAY for taking the House back, but motherfucker, I'm growing an ulcer waiting for the Senate results to be done. I know it's not looking good, but it's still possible, right?

After the past 6 years of being held hostage by this regime, I just want both of 'em, dammit.

Actually, there's a very good possibility that it's going to happen. The Webb/Allen race might get recounted, but Webb seems to have won in VA. And the MO and MT races seem to be for the Dem's, too.

So stop biting those nails!

I know, I know, but AHHHHHHHHHHHH. I've sat in such horrified shock as a thin majority re-elected Bush two years ago, and it's just maddening. A strong, unequivocal shift in power could mean such change, such desperately needed change.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Even one is enough to make Bush very, very unhappy. :) And it's hardly out of the question that they'll get the Senate.

(I know what you mean, though. I'm getting hives at the word "recount"; as much as I'm glad they're all taking the time to make sure it's done right, I'm really sick of undecided races!)

I went finally went to bed all tied up in knots, and anxiously checked out CNN.

49/49. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Never thought I'd say this (especially in light of their draconian initiatives re: marriage) but COME ON VIRGINIA!!!!!

I know!! And there's still likely to be recounts - even when it's 100% in it's unlikely to be the "final answer."

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! is right.

Don't expect a quick return on that wish. Confirmation will come today, and the the recounts will begin before certification can happen, which will take weeks at best.

I still can't fucking believe that insane gay marriage amendment passed. The urban bits of VA that make up 70% of the population aren't generally this stupid. For fuck's sake, Fairfax County of all places passed it 55:45. I expected better of my fellow urbanites in the Commonwealth.

I know, I know --I wish it weren't so fucking close.

And yeah, I don't understand how VA expects to inspire any bright new blood to their state (as employees, students, whatever) with such absurd laws. It is a downright offensive thing they did there.
