I HAVE A NEW NEPHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd just woken up to cancel French this morning because I'm really oddly wiped out. I was heading back to bed, when my brother called. Zach was born at 10:30PM last night--and is in good shape, but unfortunately there were some complications and Emily has just gotten out of her second surgery. Thank GOD, she's doing better now. She's in the ICU, but they hope to move her out by tonight. Apparently it was a pretty rough night, and my brother sounded exhausted, but relieved that both mom and baby were doing better.

He thinks I can come visit both later on today. I just can't wait!

Wow. He's finally here! I wish I could send out a marzipan cigar to everyone in the world!

I think I need to go buy him a Birth Day present today. And something for Em, too.

Congratulations! Being the Wacky Aunt is the best. You can teach the kids the wrong words for things ("parrot" and "cheese" are good) and buy them the loud/gross toys that their parents won't buy. And when they get cranky and annoying you can go home!

The odd thing is, I thought he was born on the 11th because I misread your first post about this subject.

However, for various reasons (namely it's my birthday!) I think the 12th is a much better day for him to be born on.
