Both; it's a quantum physics kind of thing. It depends on the state of the person viewing them. I was a jester (not a clown, exactly, but most people don't notice the difference) for a while in the maze at a Halloween theme park...some people would try to hug me, some would scream and run in terror as soon as they saw me.

I think I look a little too rugged.

Not exactly. I got picked up for curfew violation when I was 13 or so. (Don't all 13-year-olds go to the store at 2am?) Handcuffs, mugshot, and everything. Nothing on my record, as far as I know, though (and if there were, it would have been deleted like 6 years ago).
