I got up this morning and drove straight to Sarah's. Practically before I was in the door, I was shoving her present at her, shrieking, "Open it! Open it!"

See... It was just on Friday that I learned that Rome, Season Two was out. So even though the original present I got her was sitting in my office, I decided to return it and get her Rome.

So I drove over with her gift, and the enormous tres leches cake, and my pajamas.

We went to 5 Spot for breakfast, and were shameless gluttons. Then back to Sarah's to lounge around with Henry and comic books and then four hours of Rome. It was so so so nice. Season two is pretty spectacular so far, too. God, I love this series.

We wore Henry out and unfortunately just as his naptime was ending, we had to catch a cab downtown to The Pink Door.

The food was great, but the best (and most surreal) part had to be the female mime who came out, pranced around our tables a few times, before climbing a sling hanging from the ceiling and doing a lot of swingy bends and dips and mostly spreading her legs mid-air. Wasn't expecting that.

Then we hastened back home (And why is Belltown so skanky after hours? We were harassed by not one but two creepy guys. Yay.) to watch another episode of Rome and to eat some cake. I'd been worried about the cake (the batter wasn't as smooth this time, clumps in some areas) but it turned out fine, so that was a relief.

And then I finally bid Sarah adieu and am home with Hobbes, who has forgiven me for feeding him so late, and is currently holding down my arms so they don't float away or something. Silly gato.

Why is tomorrow Monday? Why? Why?

It's a busy week ahead and then I'm out of town next weekend. I am so excited to climb into bed, it can not be expressed in mere words.

I feel like I want to read something, and certainly have half a dozen books on my immediate to-read pile, but I don't want to read anything. Weird, huh? Maybe I will start that epic re-read of Harry Potter. Or The Golden Compass. I think that's it. I only want to read something I've already read before.
