We have been discussing how insane Jeff is because he thinks Servilia from Rome is stunningly beautiful. My response (and the response of all sane people) has been, "Yeah --like forty years ago maybe!"

Jeff: I didn't realize you were so ageist. You hate old people. And the handicapped[1].
Me: Well now you know. I have, of course, made an exception in your case.
Jeff: Watch it, Dain Bramage Girl![2]


[1] Jeff's never forgiven me for laughing hysterically when he was earnestly excited about this company that does... ballet... in... wheelchairs. He has no idea why that is so incredibly funny. I have since been labeled an Enemy of the Differently Abled.

[2] A term he finds hilarious and I find utterly moronic.

although I, uh, think she's pretty. ;) I might not go so far as stunningly beautiful, though.

I mean, I don't think she's a dog either or anything, but when I think "stunningly beautiful or gorgeous" --those are not words I would apply to her!

But for me, she's totally kicked out of bed for the hairdo alone. I mean, yuck!

Maybe it's because I'm more likely to check out a woman sexually than Jeff is. I'm sure if she were a portrait, I would think she's a nice looking lady. I totally have no lust for her!

(And I'm permanently labeled a LOT of damn things with Jeff *grin*)

It's possible - I did think it was a trifle odd that *he* was passing judgment on her looks! Unless it was in a completely nonsexual manner, which is what I figured had to be the case.

And it's true, I wouldn't lust after her, either. ...but it's safest not to ask me if I've *ever* lusted after someone 2-3X my age. Hee.

He does point out hot women regularly as an observer. Not that we normally agree on them or anything!

And I like older men often, but not older women. (Excepting in the case of the ever-awesome Susan Sarandon!)

And safe? Who wants to be safe! *grin*

A differently abled dance troupe did a 6 week course with my former students...which ended in a school wide assembly. I remember fondly the dancer who spun in circles in her electric wheelchair.

I'm not that much younger than you are and I think I find a wide range of ages and types beautiful. I think Sevilia just doesn't float my boat --it's not really so much an age thing as I really hate her hair! :)
