[Poll #1185981]

This poll is mostly based on the fact that Pete says I'm a theme-whore. It's totally true. A good opening sequence makes me bounce and when I hear the theme songs for these shows, I start to vibrate with excitement. Pete and I just watched season one of Veronica Mars (which he sensibly loved) and now I'm forcing him to watch Scrubs—and we're going to watch it until he acknowledges how awesome it is.

I have become totally obsessed with The Office. I've always loved the show, but mostly caught it randomly. But, I just watched seasons one through three on dvd and then Amazon Unbox'd all the available episodes from the current season. I am so totally obsessed and think I may need to just watch the whole thing over again. Why is it so fucking brilliant? Michael reminds me so much of my former VP that it's not even funny. That same desperate desire that employees love her--while being wholly undeserving of love or even respect. (Though Michael has his endearing moments.)

I've needed an obsession lately, and this fit the bill. It's funny how satisfying a good show can be. Something to look forward to all day. Settle into the couch, start the episode, and feel the excitement shiver through you as you await the awesome.

I chose Veronica Mars, of course. I know exactly what you mean about how you feel when you hear a certain theme song, because that's exactly what that song does for me.

And I really loved how they used it in the pre-theme setup of that one episode, where Veronica actually says "We used to be friends. A long time ago." [Cue theme]

Did you ever watch season two or three? They changed opening sequence and I didn't like it as much! (Same song, though.)

And I thought it was brilliant the way they used it in that pre-theme setup, too. That was awesome!

I saw Season Two, but I don't remember what was different about the opening sequence. The song was what I really liked, though. :)

I never got around to Season Three because, well ... this mostly has to do with my burning hatred of Logan.

Oh, how funny. I liked season three better than two! Logan ...I feel sort of sorry for him. That is one fucked up kid.

I've actually never seen scrubs, but my Danish friend here is having a hard time believing that. She absolutely adores it! But I've decided I'm totally getting NetFlix when I get back to Seattle.

YEEESSSSSS! (Or as Michael Scott would say, "YEEESSHHH".) An Office bender is very much made of win! Here have an Office icon to commemorate this occasion! Why am I exclaiming everything!

So when we all watch and squee over the finale this week -- PB & J PAM BEESLEY AND JIM -- which I will definitely be recapping, you can maybe come and play in comments??? Because that would be awesome.

Also, on Veronica Mars (one of my favoritest shows, although I felt like S2 and S3 never lived up to the first), presumably you know the theme song is a Dandy Warhols' song? (If not...they're a Portland band, and "We Used To Be Friends" was probably their most popular even before the show.) [livejournal.com profile] str8ontilmornin and I got to see them in concert a couple of years ago. VM was in the middle of season 2 at that point, so of course they closed with the theme song...AND IT WAS AWESOME. (And then they did their encore, which is this tradition that when they play Portland in December, they do this kick-ass version of The Little Drummer Boy and I maybe died of squee.)

Also, Courtney Taylor-Taylor (the lead singer) appears in one of the episodes in the background as a lounge act.

And now that's all my VM/Dandy Warhols-related trivia.

YES YES YES! You know, If I think about it, I think it's your love for The Office that reminded me to go watch it, because I would see your recaps and think, "I want to read. But I can't. Because, I haven't watched." So I set out to watch them!! And now I want to read all your recapses!

PB&J PAM BEESLEY AND JIM! *scream*

So yes, totally YES YES and OMG YES. *LOVE*

I totally agree about VM, btw. Season one was so unbelievably perfect, I don't even know how they could have done it again. So S2 and 3 were just okay and actually I liked 3 more than 2.

I DID KNOW ABOUT THE DANDY WARHOLS! I also love them, and that story about seeing them is totally awesome! I didn't know Courtney Taylor-Taylor (which I now want to run around screaming TaylorTaylor) cameo'd for the show. Very cool!

ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT MICHAEL IS AN ADORABLE RETARDED PUPPY A THEORY THAT I PROVE IN RECAPS THE END.
