I seriously should have taken before/after pictures of the fridge.

Approximately 90% of everything was tossed. Sheesh.

I need to remember that I am not someone who can buy a lot of anything, because I am always too distracted to eat it before it rots. Smaller purchases!

And god. I am NEVER allowed to buy yogurt again. Ever. I swear this periodically and then weaken because it seems so fruity and delicious and then it just gets tossed unopened. *sad*

I love my cleaning people. They make my life a better thing. They are so incredibly nice. This sweet lady from Brazil and her son-in-law who always comes and helps out (on the weekends, which is when I book with them). So, so nice. And they do great work.

They're vacuuming now. It's almost done!!

AND I cleaned the deck, which was messy sweaty work. I rearranged the table/chairs and it looks so nice out there now! And my garden is so bloom-y!!

I buy a lot of stuff at a wholesale grocery place, because I can get things for the chocolate biz like cream (much cheaper by the half gallon) while getting freezable staples like ground beef at bulk prices.

But I always get prepared salad mix, too, because it's so much cheaper. I never buy the pre-washed and cut stuff at the grocery store because it's like $2 for 5 oz. of lettuce. But at the wholesale place it's $3.68 for five pounds.

I think we've gotten all the way through a bag without it rotting twice. In, like, seven years. I wish we had a composter or something, because a pound of it always goes in the trash when it starts to get slimy. But it's still such a good deal, we have to buy it.

And yogurt? Yeah. I get big things of plain yogurt and add my own fruit and Splenda, and somewhere around the 2/3 mark I forget to eat yogurt and have to throw the rest out. Same with cottage cheese. Damn fickle dairy products.

BTW - did the chocolate arrive on time and intact? Please please please say that it did. If not, I'll send replacements.

I really want to be the sort of person who can buy in bulk, divide at home, freeze, and use as needed. But I can't. It's an area where I've generally accepted my total incompetence.

Awesome you have a wholesale place, though!

And YES--thank you so much. I should have emailed you that I got all of the lovely boxes! Thanks for accommodating the different shipping addresses at the last minute!

You're not missing much; the flavored yogurts always sound so much better than they actually are! I've taken to buying plain organic lowfat yogurt instead and mashing jam and Splenda into it, or making smoothies and Lassis with it. And since it's plain, I can also use it for cooking and baking (it's a great buttermilk substitute).

I can't remember the last time I made buttermilk biscuits with actual buttermilk! I almost always use yogurt instead.
