9. Name a movie that you own:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops:
I can't think of any actor who started off in a different field, but I have to say that as peculiarly hard as I find Nicole Kidman to like, I've been startled by how good she can be in movies. Still find something about her that doesn't appeal, but she's talented and I think brave with her roles.

Yup.

All types, really. But I have a particular fondness for ensemble comedy and quirky indies.

Date: 2008-12-06 05:37 am (UTC)1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times:
Love Actually.
2. Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in a theatre:
American Beauty.
3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie:
Colin Firth.
4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie:
Jon Heder. There's a guy that I dislike more, but I'm never going to be able to remember his name or even a movie that he has been in. He's creepy and has brown hair. Does that narrow it down?
5. Name a movie that you can quote from:
Princess Bride!
6. Name a movie musical that you know all the lyrics to all the songs:
The Sound of Music.
7. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with:
Enchanted.
8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see:
Since my coworker and his girlfriend thought that one couple in Love Actually were porn stars (they're NOT), I'll go with Real Genius.
9. Name a movie that you own:
Pride and Prejudice.
10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops:
I also can't think of anyone that fits this description, but I'll say that I - along with everyone else on Earth - was surprised and pleased by Heath Ledger's performance in Dark Knight. Having started in 10 Things I Hate About You is pretty close to a different medium.
11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in?
Yep. The one I remember is Armageddon, but I must have seen others.
12. Ever made out in a movie?
Probably, although I really dislike it. If I'm paying to see a movie, I want to see the movie.
13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't gotten around to it:
Chicago?
14. Ever walked out of a movie?
I desperately wanted to walk out of Stigmata, but I was on a date so I couldn't.
15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theatre:
Probably American Beauty.
16. Popcorn?
If Brian gets a tub, I'll have a couple of pieces, but I never want to buy it on my own.
17. How often do you go to the movies?
Once every couple of months.
18. What's the last movie you saw in the theater?
Oh, this is embarrassing. House Bunny.
19. What is your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
Romantic comedies that aren't annoying (House Bunny was annoying, in case you're curious).
20. What was the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Turner and Hooch. My father and I drove to Lompoc to see it, because there wasn't a movie theater in Santa Maria at that time. I was probably seven or eight. Also The Little Mermaid, but I think that was later.
