So I have this quote stuck in my head, and I can't remember the movie. This is probably too vague to be useful, but:

A British kid, I'm pretty sure a little girl, is being hustled out of a room or being told not to talk to someone that her guardians are alarmed by.

Kid says, "I liked her! (or him) She (or he) talked about things!" Very clipped accent:

I LOIKED her! She taulked about Things!

The 'someone' is lovably eccentric and of no real danger.

It could also be from tv?

Aaaaaaaaaargh. Pretty sure it's not the Harry Potters. Going nuts trying to think about other movies or shows where this all happened. Argh!

Anyone have the vaguest clue what I'm on about?

Argh - now this sounds really familiar to me, but I have no idea why!

I keep trying to make it be the youngest daughter in Sense & Sensibility, but I know that's not it.

Argh!!

IT WAS IT WAS!!!!

It's from Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson. It's the youngest sister, Margaret, talking about the mother-in-law of the family they end up renting a cottage from!

You are a genius!!!

Ah ha!! I shouldn't have doubted myself!

Now I need to watch it tonight, I think! :)

My guess fizzled -- at least I can take comfort now in knowing I wouldn't have gotten it.

I kind of thought so -- at least I had the DVD to prove myself wrong.

Did you just re-watch it? I need to see that again. I love the armored bears so much! Iorek!!

I just watched the first section -- but yeah, the bears are my favorite part, too.

We have it recorded and I still haven't watched it - I'm kinda scared since I loved the book!

Sarah and I both love the book, too. I loved the movie, Sarah hated it. But honestly, just for some of the scenes alone I think it's totally worth watching. It's so beautifully filmed!
