blah blah blah

Okay, I know the entire eastern side of the country is miserably buried in snow and we're having a mild winter, but my feet have been so freaking cold ALL DAY. And I'm not rebelliously running amok in bare feet either, I have fleece footie things on for once. I kept fantasizing about immersing them in really hot water. But then I didn't have a magic wand to make that appear, so.
I can haz spring?
Oddly, I am obsessed with ffwding to summer. I mentioned this to someone who said that maybe it was because we didn't get much of a summer last year. I'm dying for summer foods and they're just not available right now. (TOMATOES. I WANT TOMATOES. And I'm not even a big tomato person. WTF. I want to eat them sliced on a plate with some salt and pepper. Why?)
So, I made brownies. Because that is the answer to all woes. New recipe for me. (Test Kitchen.) Hope they are good. Will take them into office.
I'm still having vivid Black Swan flashbacks at night, which aren't helped by all the trailers for it that are still running everywhere. Also, I wish Sarah were here so we could play more Mario. We have a standing slacker-date for Monday nights, and it's beyond glorious. And that is all I want out of life. Mario with Sarah. And pizza. Oh, and cherry coke zero. But that's it. I swear.
I so desperately want a cherry coke zero right now. And we even have them in the house! But I'm insomniackish lately enough without pre-bed-time caffeine. BOO.
This being a grownup thing suuuuucks. I want a refund.

Cool Story Sis time: I was going to see Black Swan with two friends, but they had an event earlier in the day which went longer than they expected, and by the time they told me this I was already by the movie theater we were going to meet at, so I decided to go ahead and see it anyway. So I saw it by myself, and had no one to discuss with afterwards.
...bad, bad, bad idea.
After I got home, it took watching four episodes of Lost Season 6 back to back before I could disassociate myself enough to go to bed.

Re: Black Swan
Yeah....I....um. I'm sorry you saw it alone. I've seen half a dozen light-hearted things by now and my brain still won't let go of parts of it. (Even silly parts that I rolled my eyes at in the theater.)

I made brownies last night too (just a box mix), but somehow, despite them looking done and the knife coming out clean, the middle is totally not fully cooked. Not sure if it will kill me to eat that part or not...I am WILLING to eat it, you see.

Date: 2011-02-02 06:28 pm (UTC)I often leave my brownies a little undercooked--more chocolately and gooey!! Hasn't killed me yet!
YAY BROWNIES!!

Date: 2011-02-02 06:14 pm (UTC)And I want a refund too, as the past week has consisted of increasing panic about the snow possibly collapsing our roof. (Seriously. The news is increasingly filled with stories of local buildings simply "exploding" under the weight of the snow.) Plus I have to call about flood insurance. This isn't to play Topper - it's just my current iteration of "being a grown-up suuuuuucks." Because it does, and I totally sympathize.
Hrm. Can't one play Mario over the magic intertubes? Do you have Smash Bros.?? If so, there's a chance we could play together someday... via forcing Shash to set it up for me while I whine, but still.

Date: 2011-02-02 06:34 pm (UTC)I didn't try a hot bath--hate my bathtub. Though I should go take a hot shower now, because my fingers are turning blue. (I'm a bit cheap with the heat until I snap and turn it to 80 24/7. Makes for an exhilarating heating bill.)
Ack---okay, that is some scary shit!! Commiserate away. Being a grownup suuuucks universally, but that is some really awful stuff to have to worry about!!
OOoo...what is Smash Bros?? (And no--the game Sarah and I play, Super Mario Galaxy, is a same-room type of deal. Which is okay, it makes Monday nights the best thing EVER.)

Date: 2011-02-02 08:01 pm (UTC)I appreciate that. It is a scary, and bizarre, thing to have to worry about. (I did just call about flood insurance, and set that up. Joy.)
Ah, gotcha. Shash played Galaxy too, so I know what you mean there.

:) I was so, so addicted to that for at least a year, and we still play sometimes.

Date: 2011-02-02 09:14 pm (UTC)Flood insurance--oy. May you never need to use it.
And so Smash Bros is like a one-on-one battle type game? I think I like running around stomping on mushrooms and collecting coins more than brawling....

Date: 2011-02-02 10:41 pm (UTC)Thanks - water's already leaking into the basement, so it seemed a wise precaution. Though discussions of what will happen if our entire house is destroyed by snowmelt was certainly an uplifting start to the day.
It is indeed a battle game; more than two people can play, but yeah. I don't blame you at all, though - I like the battle games a lot more than the quest-y ones, so it stands to reason people (most people, I think!) might feel the opposite.
