I have a sinking feeling the Shrub is going to win, but hope springs eternal.

You know, I shared that same sentiment with someone about a year ago and they laughed at me. "There's NO reason to worry about that!", they said (can't remember who said it). But now that we're getting closer to the election, Bush's chances are looking pretty good and I'm getting more nervous by the day. It's frustrating.

I rented "Bowling for Columbine" last night. I'd never seen it before. Michael Moore tends to be a little reductive (not to mention gullible. Dude, there's nothing Canadians like more than feeling superior to Americans, even if it means fibbing about how they never lock their doors) but he hits the nail right on the head with his "keep em scared and they're easy to manipulate" hypothesis.

Had you said that to me a year ago, I would have laughed incredulously, too. It was inconceivable to me that he got away with stealing the last election. It's inconceivable to me now that he's not trailing pitifully. It'll be inconceivable to me if he actually wins this election.

I need to stop using that word. I do not theenk it means what I theenk it means.
