God TV is BORING.

Let's see. What's on:

Ultimate Chopper infomercial (as much as I don't believe their hype, it's hypnotic to watch)
Some little girl is crying on Lifetime
Ahnuld is a dad who missed his kid's karate class and is begging forgiveness
Evangelists
Cowboys
Dead soldiers in WWII
Femoral Neck Imaging
Nike ad
Tennis
Vehix ad
Ooo food network (dammit, ads, *surfs on*)
Poker
What Not To Wear
Kim Possible
Another Vehix ad (seriously, they're everywhere)
Some furry animal's snout up the camera
Fox news (noooooooo thank you)
Reality TV on Oxygen (Candid Camera type thingie)
Cops
Tombstone (oooo!)
As Good As It Gets (overrated, I think)
E! Pamela Anderson talking about licking people

Blah.

Judy and Ellie and everyone just left for Alaska for the week for a family reunion. Didn't I just say no one else was allowed to go anywhere?

Issue #67 is out. I finally managed to buy a copy and am more confused than ever.

Spoilers )

No detailed spoilers, but an intriguing comment from Terry Moore on his SiP Forum regarding the next couple of issues:

"Forget everything you've read about what is coming up in the next few issues. Diamond Previews, interviews, my forum comments... they're all out the window. I have rewritten everything to come. If you care anything about Francine and Katchoo and their families, SiP 68 and 69 are going to rock your world. For me, I'm walking on clouds. It's not like I've changed the SiP story, it's like I've finally found it.

I'm not going to visit the forum again until 69 is completed. I don't want to say anymore or answer any questions. I want to stay in this magic place and not think about who is or isn't reading. The love and support you've all expressed to me has meant a great deal to me. I hope the next two issues will return that love and give you something to smile about in a world that badly needs smiles."

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Need the next issue. NOW.

1. I read this interesting recipe thing for cake. Apparently you can take any cake mix and substitute the eggs/oil with a can of diet soda (or a can of pumpkin) and voila--low fat cake. Just tried some Pillsbury Devil's Food cake with some diet Pepsi and it's not bad. You can taste a bit of the soda, but it's not offensive. Obviously having regular frosting would defeat the purpose, but I had mine with some fat-free cool whip and it's not bad. I'd done something similar with brownie mix before, substituting raspberry applesauce for the oil and egg beaters for the egg but this is much simpler. And lower in fat/calories.

I have a massive sweet tooth so I can't just do what I'd like and save up for dessert on really special occasions, so must bastardize recipes and find alternatives. I'm a purist, but only in theory.

2. Decided to continue my game of Final Fantasy X-2. After about 10 minutes I remembered what bored me last time. I feel anal enough that I want to get all the story % points. But god the Commsphere Waves sections are BORING. Particularly since you have to go back over and over again to get all the % points. Brh.

But feeling hermitish today, so this will have to do. Tomorrow I have to get out of the house and do something. Will call Jeff. Though he's moving this weekend and will probably be busy. Of course I offered to help, but he already has a squad of able-bodied men and doesn't need my help.

oooo

Mystic Pizza is on! Why is it sometimes you have the most peculiar fondness for the most mediocre movies?

Huh. The movie that launched Julia Robert's stardom.

And why I always confuse Lili Taylor and Annabeth Gish. Though they really don't look alike.

Huh.
