Yes, winter has arrived. And without K here insisting I crank up the heat, it's damn cold now.

Tonight was fun! [livejournal.com profile] brabble and I rode the 18-Express back to Market Street and had the joy of Happy Hour at Matador. Mmm $4 goodies and mojitos! Today was essentially Sarah's Friday. So I kept perkily thinking it was my Friday, too. Then reality would come rudely crashing down and I'd remember I have 2 more work days this week. Meh.

We headed back to my place so I could give Sarah her presents and then I drove her home so she could pack and get ready for her trip back to The Great White North. Managed to park in the narrow lane outside her apartment without banging into anything. We went inside and I immediately tore open my presents. It was both hilarious and awesome. She got me the exact same Alison Krauss cd I got her. I can't believe she kept a straight face when she opened hers. And she got me Philips Noise Canceling Headphones: the most fucking amazing headphones ever. *loves* My previous crappy $4 pair was baring copper wire and hurt my ears. These are beyond glorious. Thanks, Sarah!!!

So I did some Stuff. It's not top secret or anything, just stuff to do with the newjob. Fuck. Speaking of which. Must remember to dress nicely tomorrow and drive in because I have to do a newjob related errand at lunch.

And now I need to:

write/address/stamp Christmas cards
cut out the final strips for Ellie's quilt
check on Amy's and Jeff's presents

Also need to contact UPS and have them redirect the package they tried to deliver during the 20 minutes I was away from the house this evening.(Amy! Amy! It's the package you sent! I can't wait to see what it is!!)

Also, need to go to sleep early. As lowkey as work's been, I still need to be conscious for it.

whee

The release date of the upcoming Harry Potter book has been everywhere today. Sarah passed on an interesting article that resulted in much shrieking babble from me at work today.

This means I'm going to have to re-read book 2. *grumble* I love all the books, but Chamber of Secrets is the dullest of them, dammit. Ginny Weasely gets much more interesting in book 5.

Finished with Christmas cards, though I have the horrible feeling I'm missing someone. I think it's because a lot of cards were sent out with the cookies, so those people aren't on the list of just-cards. Which is also why I forgot to do this earlier--because I thought I already had. Hmph. I only wrote cards for the ones I mailed, but not the ones I hand delivered, so shit! I didn't actually mail cards to Kim & Chuck or KC & Jen or Jeanne. Dammit. Dammit. Dammit. They are the ones I've forgotten. D'oh!

Doing another batch of cookies and boxes this weekend for the people I didn't have addresses for the first round. At least it'll keep me busy! Just about everyone is out of town this weekend.

Cons: no one to play with
Pros: catch up on tons of stuff

My plans include knitting, quilting, baking (apparently my goal is to fully morph into AmishCat). To counter that, I'll be settling my new motherboard into it's new case. FINALLY. Can't put that off anymore. And am going to watch The Incredibles again. Yes, again. Whee!

I did finally get to watch all of RotK. Much more extensive rambling about this later. But I will say that finally seeing the scene where Eomer finds Eowyn's body in the Pelennor Fields was worth the wait. After a year of waiting for this scene, it still completely did me in to see him just HOWL. I love Karl Urban and he should immediately make himself available to give me a massage and um more. Want.

Fuckity fuck. Need to go to sleep, but really don't wanna. Today should be Friday, see?
