Mary makes a good point. A point I'll bitterly agree with more and more as the years go by and I can't get my cat covered on my spinster insurance plan. BUT--so long as straight people have these benefits, gay people should not be discriminated against. (Yeah, I know you know this).

Once that's resolved, we single people can start protesting against the smug marrieds.
